How to Time Block Successfully
Hey guys!
As promised in my last IG post, here's my basic breakdown on how I time block successfully with an accountability check.
But quickly… Welcome to my newsletter! I’ll be sending bi-weekly emails on tips, tools & learnings on building my business & personal brand.
I know a lot of you joined for the Creating Content 101 course promo. But now that it’s out and so many of you are dialed in taking it, I figured I should continue to educate you here on things I’m using that I find useful for my business & creating content.
Now, time for the things I use to time block successfully.. First things first: I create a SEPARATE Google Calendar just for time blocking. This isn't your regular meeting calendar. Think of it as your strategic business roadmap.
Current Schedule Snapshot:

If you don’t know how to do this here’s a little 3 step guide on how to start.
Step 1: Go to your Google calendar and look on the left-hand side. Under "calendars" click the + button and create a new one. Mine is called "TimeBlock Structure"

Step 2: Name your time blocks - mine are defined in a way that makes sense to me and what I do. Here's how I define some of mine so you can think about how you want to name yours.
"New Business": time block for growth activities like: Prospective client meetings, Email outreach, Proposal creation, Prospective brand research, etc.
"Content Day": time block for anything content creation like: YouTube video scripting, Bulk newsletter writing, Content ideation, SMM content review and approval, etc.
***Step 3: This is the most important. I quarterly time track my week with CLOCKIFY. One week every three months, I analyze the f*ck out of what I'm doing:
Am I actually following my time blocks?
Where am I spending most of my time?
Do I need to recalibrate my structure and why?
Pro tip: If you're not tracking, you can't optimize.
I promise once you start doing this you'll see where you're either wasting time or using too much time in one area. Iron out the kinks and hit the ground running in January, you got this!
Best,
Nana
